Kefalonia is mainly mountainous with Mount Ainos and the Mega Soro peak, the highest of all the Ionian Islands, reaching 1,628m. Its plains are few and small in area, the largest being that of the Paliki peninsula. The 254km coastline reveals rich horizontal partitioning forming peninsulas, wide gulfs, natural coves as well as magical beaches.
